Wild in California.

Serving up supportive environments for animals to live their lives, and for humans to gain a better understanding of California’s native species.

Recipe for Success

Having this many cooks in the kitchen might not have been easy, but the final result was so harmonious that it received the 2018 Silver Level Award for Collaborative Partnering. When everyone in the room remembers that we all care deeply about creating great guest experiences, conflicts become collaborations.

Delivering for Diverse Needs

A neighborhood museum like The Randall serves many purposes for daily visitors and permanent residents. We built easy to clean, sound-dampened raptor enclosures above graffiti-resistant study carrels, maximizing the useable space in the main exhibit hall and giving non-releasable birds a safe haven high above the main floor.

Careful Ingredient Preparation

Each enclosure posed technical and engineering questions: Which AZA-approved sculpting medium meets green building standards? What happens if the raccoon chews on that? Is that metal mesh zinc-free? How can disabled staff access the terrarium? Will the glass crack in an earthquake?
